
Payroll Deductions
DVA sponsors a Section 125 Premium Only Plan. This means your premiums will be deducted on a pre-tax basis, saving you payroll taxes. If you wish to pay your premiums on an after-tax basis, please ask HR for a waiver form.
NOTE: If you enroll your domestic partner, premiums for the domestic partner will be taken on an after-tax basis. Also, if at any time, an employer contributes toward domestic partner coverage, the employer contribution will be considered taxable income to you.
DVA will contribute the monthly premium to cover the base medical plan (Meritain Health $3,500 80/50). Members choosing the Health Savings Account (Meritain Health $5,000 80/50 HSA) with the monthly premium amount below the base medical plan, the remaining balance will be contributed to you HSA- Health Savings Account.
Premiums will be deducted on a pre-tax basis from employee's paycheck (52 pay periods per year).
